No indication with respect to the memory is mentioned in technical
Al documentation of the MD40072.
After having bought 2 barettes Been worth memory Corsair
Select SO-DIMM DDR-SDRAM 512 Mo PC2700, I found myself the nozzle
in water and on my hunger.
Indeed, each barette was detected by the portabe like 256 Mb.
Having contacted the S.A.V of Medion France (on May 29, 2006), and
after an inscription (obligatory) in their service, I could have a
technician.
After 20 minutes of call I have pus to have the following answer:
On an English documentation of the MD40072 (nonavailable on the Net)
that technician says it was to send to me by email (on June 5, 2006 I
did still not receive this documentation) it is stipulated that the
maximum quantity of memory being able to be installed is of 512Mo +
256Mo.
This answer under hears, that the barette intern of 256Mb.
Apparement this answer is known certain manufacturer, for proof the
following site: http://www.memoryx.net/memdrme.html,
giving following information:

| Memory Slots | 1 (1 bank of 1) |
| non-removable bases memory | 256MB |
You will note: only one slot memory.
Nonmodifiable memory: 256Mb.
I thus by preoccupations with a curiosity tanté the
installation of the
barette of origin of the MD40072 (that in non-removable base) + one
of 512Mb in one Memory Slots (i.e. that which is accessible via the
external trap door (4)).
Identical problem I had on the whole always only 512 Mb.
Without at all calling in question the quality of the Corsair memories those used are completely incompatible with the MD40072.
I did not want to despair and following a message, left on a
commercial site I could raise:

I bought memory Kingston (KVR333X64SC25/512) for my portable Speedmaster MD40072 (=Medion RAM200). Ordered the 4/4/06 with 15h10, received the 7/4/06 in the afternoon and in more refunding of the difference. Installation as of reception and operation OK. Beforehand, the before-sale had reassured me in the event of failure of this bar on my portable. CHEER
I thus bought the same type of memory and there. miracle I have
finally my 1.024Mo of read-write memory.
It was time.
